Diamonds that are labelled with the purity grade "SI1" according to gemmological guidelines have minor inclusions that are easily visible under 10x magnification with a magnifying glass. Anyone who examines the diamond thoroughly or casts a trained eye over it will find small to medium-sized inclusions or several small imperfections inside the diamond. Thanks to its unimpaired beauty, an SI1 diamond offers very good value for money and is therefore frequently used for jewellery.

The cut of a diamond determines the brilliance, i.e. how strongly a diamond sparkles. The cut is therefore not, as is often confused, the shape of the stone. The cut quality is determined on the basis of three criteria: Polish (polish), symmetry (symmetry) and the cut proportions. For some cut shapes, the "cut grade" value also counts. If a diamond is cut too shallow or deep, it loses brilliance due to fewer reflections on the side facets.
