The story of Nevermined
Nevermined was founded in 2021 by Christine Marhofer and Michael Marhofer in an effort to revolutionise the jewellery industry. In order to finally be able to produce sustainable diamond jewellery, the founding couple searched for an alternative to the often socially critical and environmentally damaging mined diamonds for their own jewellery brand mandana "Next Generation Jewellery". However, manufacturers of lab-grown diamonds were almost exclusively found outside Europe, meaning that the gemstones had to be transported long distances to be processed into premium jewellery in Europe – anything but sustainable! That's why Nevermined was created as an in-house diamond production facility for mandana in Germany. Led by a strong founding couple who combine innovative spirit with entrepreneurship, inspiration with experience, founder spirit with history and international networks with European roots.
Christine Marhofer
is Managing Director and co-founder of Nevermined GmbH. As a qualified textile business economist, she has many years of experience in the fashion industry with international fashion brands. Her desire for a more sustainable future and to create something of lasting value drives the entrepreneur on a daily basis. That is why she does everything she can to make Nevermined as ecologically, economically, fairly and ethically clean as possible. She is pursuing her vision of growing her own laboratory-grown diamonds in Germany in order to process them into collections for her sustainable luxury jewellery brand mandana. Within just a few years, the mother of three and her partner have succeeded in setting up their own LGD production for the sister brand mandana and the entire jewellery industry as well as B2B customers. Christine Marhofer is the founder, managing partner, idea generator and inspirer of Nevermined.
Michael Marhofer
is a partner and co-founder of Nevermined together with Christine Marhofer. While studying business administration at the universities of Bochum and Lahr, he gained his first experience of self-employment before joining the family business in 1997 and beginning his career at the ifm group of companies. After holding various positions in product management at the automation company, Michael Marhofer took over the global management of sales and finance in 2001. Today, together with a business partner, he heads the globally active group of companies, which has also set itself the goal of being climate-neutral by 2030.
It quickly became clear to us that luxury and sustainability cannot be authentically combined as long as lab-grown diamonds have to be transported thousands of kilometres to Europe and the production conditions remain opaque.

Established to leave a green footprint
Nevermined GmbH was born to confront a global problem: Diamond mining for the jewellery industry endangers the climate, rainforests, global water resources and agricultural land. Mined diamonds are produced at the expense of the well-being of people who are exposed to undignified working conditions. And the transport routes of diamonds to Europe produce vast amounts of CO2. The latter applies not only to mine diamonds, but also to producers of lab-grown diamonds, most of whom are based outside Europe.
With Nevermined, Christine Marhofer and Michael Marhofer are making fair, transparent and economically attractive lab-grown diamond production for the jewellery industry possible once and for all, based in Germany and in accordance with the very highest quality standards.

Sustainable materials, environmentally friendly production with the use of 100% green electricity and fair working conditions are a matter of course for us. We are constantly working to optimise our processes and are proud of the completely transparent and conflict-free diamond production at our manufacturing site in Germany.
