The 4Cs of your diamond

"Carat" is the internationally recognised unit in which the weight of a diamond or gemstone is measured. One carat corresponds to exactly 200 milligrams or 0.2 grams. Accordingly, a 5-carat diamond weighs 1 gram. The diamond of your choice weighs 1,25 carats and measures approx. 6.86 - 6.95 x 4.30 mm.

The colour within the "Colour" criterion of the 4Cs is indicated on a scale from D to Z. The earlier in the alphabet the colour rating, the closer the diamond is to colourless. Colourless diamonds receive the highest rating with a grade of D and are considered to be particularly pure and clear. Further up the scale, for instance, up to grade Z, colours such as yellow or brown can become visible.

Cut

The cut of a diamond determines the brilliance, i.e. how strongly a diamond sparkles. The cut is therefore not, as is often confused, the shape of the stone. The cut quality is determined on the basis of three criteria: Polish (polish), symmetry (symmetry) and the cut proportions. For some cut shapes, the "cut grade" value also counts. If a diamond is cut too shallow or deep, it loses brilliance due to fewer reflections on the side facets.
